If you experience any of the following signs and symptoms (or combinations thereof), then you may be experiencing a panic attack.

  • a raging heartbeat
  • difficulty breathing, feeling like you cannot receive enough air
  • terror that is virtually paralyzing
  • trembling, shaking, & sweating
  • heart palpitations, feelings of dread
  • dizziness, light-headed, or nausea
  • nervous, shaking, stress
  • slight choking, chest pain, distress
  • hot flashes, and/or sudden chills
  • fear, fright, afraid, anxiousness
  • tingling in fingers or toes like “pins & needles”
  • fearful thoughts that you are “going to go crazy or may be about to die”

Other info regarding signs & symptoms of panic attacks – Panic attacks typically reach maximum intensity within one to three minutes once they begin. They then diminish gradually over the next thirty minutes, sometimes taking up to a few hours to fully dissipate. It is rather common for a person to go to an emergency room the first time they have a panic attack because they are “shocked” at what is happening. The fear of the unknown of what is happening makes that first panic attack even more scary. Subsequent attacks may occur several times a month or rarely and can be as severe as the initial attack. However, when a person at least becomes educated about panic attacks, the next time there is a sign and/or symptom of one, they can do some encouraging self talk to make going through it more tolerable.

If a person really wants to relieve themselves of having future panic attacks, they should either seek therapy through a qualified counselor or do home study therapy counseling. A qualified private counselor can be quite expensive and finding the “right one for you” is sometimes challenging. There are however a number of qualified and very affordable home study therapy courses that have successfully and genuinely helped thousands of people to cure them of their severe anxiety attacks and symptoms. These courses often are in a video and/or audio format combined with use of written materials. They contain specific mental exercises, education and proven self-talk techniques, and emotional support …helping the sufferer to realize that they are not alone nor at fault. Always remember that panic attacks are much more common than many people realize and they are extremely real to the person who is suffering.

Panic Attack or Heart Attack?

Am I Physically in Danger during a Panic Attack? Panic attacks are most often never dangerous or permanently dangerous unless for example you already have a serious heart condition to begin with. The extreme stress from the panic could potentially trigger a heart attack in this case. Usually continuous stress is more likely the cause of things like heart attacks or strokes. Unless you have a serious physical medical condition,do not live in a state of worry. Continuous worrying while or moments before you are having the panic attack tends to just feed it more, thus making it even worse. Our bodies were designed and equipped to tolerate occasional bouts of extreme stress. However, everyone should have yearly physicals as a wise precaution.

I can recommend some quality home study therapy courses that are proven and really quite affordable. They also go into greater depth about signs and symptoms of panic attacks.
